Living in east London I am constantly surrounded by hyped shit, people who work in advertising and generally people who act like sheep and follow whatever crap they've been told to like that week. It can be very depressing some times but one group of guys who regularly put on great nights (mainly down in south London) are Bahamian Moor. The music is great, the people are fun and it's basically good vibez all night/day long. Olly from Bahamian Moor just sent me this mix to put up on the site. They're also putting on a night this Saturday called Dance Café in Deptford with DJs Sevenovertwelve and World Unknown's Andy Blake, should be bangin'!!!
I've lost count the amount of times I watched Beverly Hills Cop II as a kid, so good, no one uses light creeping through some blinds better than a Scott brother. BTW I could only find an Italian version of the intro above, I have no idea why they changed Eddie Murphy's amazing trademark laugh to sound like a chubby weasely little Italian.
The movie also had one of the best 80's soundtracks ever.
Here are 5 Movements created by Vangelis for the Cosmos: A Special Edition TV series by Carl Sagan. Unlike the music for the original Cosmos series the music created by Vangelis for the 1986 Special Edition was never released.
I mentioned Basso who runs my favourite music blog last week, now he's gone and got himself an ONLINE RECORD SHOP which specialises in European Jazz & Fusion, Krautrock, Elektronik, New Age, Balearic, Ambient, Disco and Leftfield Dancemusic. It's not open just yet for business but check it out to get hold of some lovely records in the near future.
Who doesn't want a bit of 70's cosmic disco and electronic avantgarde? Check out Cosmic Dudes brilliant YOUTUBE CHANNEL where you can check out some lovely sounds, here are a couple to give you an idea of the stuff they've got. Also worth checking out is their SOUNDCLOUD which has a few of their Beach Freaks mixes.
